Navratri – the most playful festival of India – is already upon us. In addition to its religious significance, these nine nights are bundled with cheerful garba moves, some amazing festive fashion, and loads of fun and laughter. This is the time to rock those dandiya nights in your most charming ethnic avatar. But, for some of us (including me), it’s all about some last minute inspiration to compile our Navratri 2017 lookbook, which we expect to be perfectly fashionable and stunning.
When it comes to dandiya, even the most stylish girls stick to the very predictable chaniya cholis. They are the perfect traditional attire for garba, but they do least to keep you comfortable while you dance on the dandiya beats. So, this Navratri, give your chaniya cholis some rest, and say yes to comfort while also looking on point for garba.
With this blog, I’m showcasing some Navratri outfit ideas, so that you can go a little further and add a touch of your own personal style into compiling an outfit that is edgy and unique.
For this look, I opted for a rust orange halter neck top with some embroidery details and paired it with navy blue dhoti pants.
This year has been huge for embroidery, so much so that even Gucci and Fendi have used embroidery on their denim jackets and their handbags. So, it is obvious that I had to add a piece with some embroidery details, thus the embroidered top.
Dhoti pants have become an international style statement and have landed on a range of fashion ramps. They make an amazing bottom wear, allowing you to pair it with anything from a crop top to a kurta, making your style versatile. Dhoti pants are an amazing option for Navratri, so as to keep your outfit light and airy. You can also go for skirts and dupattas that are in vibrant colors, to get that perfect Navratri look.
Navratri is all about accessorizing, so I’ve heavily accessorized my look with statement earrings, kamarbandh, kadaas, ring, and mojaris.
You can also go for a silver necklace or a choker, a baajubandh, and a maagtikka to accessorize your outfit, it totally depends on your style and your choice of outfit.
I went for a subtle look with headband braids. You can also create some quick and easy hairstyles that are suitable for Navratri such as a messy bun or a fish tail braid.
